Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gearing up for her sixth budget announcement, all eyes are on the Interim Budget set for February 1 at 11 am.
This budget holds particular significance as it precedes the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Given its status as an election year, this budget will only serve as a vote-on-account, with a more comprehensive budget slated for presentation after the elections.
Given that this is an interim Budget, no big policy announcements are expected. Rather, this year budget is likely to be a report card of the Modi government’s triumphs over the last decade.
