Amazon India to Relocate Bengaluru HQ, Eyes Cost Savings

Amazon India is shifting its Bengaluru headquarters from the World Trade Centre (WTC) to a new campus near the airport to cut costs. Currently occupying nearly half a million square feet at WTC, Amazon pays around ₹250 per sq. ft. in rent. The new office by Sattva is expected to cost less than a third of this amount. The relocation begins in April 2024 and will complete by April 2026.This move impacts 5,000 employees, many of whom live near WTC in the Brigade Gateway complex. The new office’s 20 km distance could increase commutes to over 80 minutes in heavy traffic, causing dissatisfaction among employees.
