The Indian stock markets, initially in the red, saw a strong recovery. The NSE Nifty 50, which had dropped by 140.80 points to 24,226.70, bounced back to 24,400. Similarly, the BSE Sensex, after an initial fall of 431.55 points to 79,274.36, surged over 79,850.
Adani group stocks faced a sharp decline of over 4% following new allegations against SEBI Chief Madhabi Puri Buch in the Hindenburg report. However, the markets regained strength, led by gains in realty and metal stocks.
