Noel Tata has been appointed as the new chairman of Tata Trusts, the philanthropic wing of the Tata Group, effective immediately. This decision follows the death of Ratan Tata, who passed away at 86 two days ago. The Trustees of Tata Trusts met in Mumbai to honor Ratan Tata's significant contributions to both the Tata Group and the nation. They unanimously chose Noel Tata to succeed him. This appointment is crucial because Tata Trusts holds a 66% stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of various Tata firms.
