Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have invested ₹30,772 crore in Indian equities in July 2024, driven by expectations of continued policy reforms and strong economic growth. This surge follows a ₹26,565 crore investment in June. The optimism is further fueled by anticipation of a reform-oriented budget. FPIs are also closely monitoring potential changes to the long-term capital gains tax. Additionally, they invested ₹13,573 crore in the debt market. The trend of dollar and bond yield weakness may sustain FPI interest in Indian markets.
