Reliance is set to merge its JioCinema streaming service with Disney+ Hotstar as part of its $8.5 billion merger with Disney's Indian media assets. Sources reveal that Reliance plans to keep Disney+ Hotstar as its main platform, thanks to its superior technology. JioCinema will merge into Disney+ Hotstar, creating a consolidated platform. All major live sports, including IPL, will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. The merger, approved by the Competition Commission of India, will give Reliance control of 40% of India's streaming and TV ad market.
