SEBI Withdraws Statement on Employee Concerns After Protests

SEBI, India's market regulator, has withdrawn a press release that dismissed employee allegations of a toxic work culture.

This came after employees protested at SEBI’s headquarters on September 4 and 5, objecting to the release as unauthorized. The original statement accused external parties of fueling the complaints, but SEBI has now agreed to address employee concerns internally. The employees had demanded better benefits and criticized unprofessional work conditions. SEBI reassured that all issues will be resolved through internal mechanisms while maintaining governance standards.
