Sensex Hits 71,000: How Big Mutual Funds Adapted for Bigger Gains

As the S&P BSEAs the S&P BSE Sensex soared to 71,000, sizable equity mutual funds faced new challenges amid surging markets. Large schemes with over Rs 30,000 crore assets experienced growth from both capital appreciation and substantial inflows, particularly from retail investors.

Examining 14 active equity funds, adjustments in their strategies were observed. Key additions to portfolios in the last six months include stocks from funds like HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities, Parag Parikh Flexi Cap, and ICICI Prudential Bluechip.

This proactive tweaking aims to navigate and maximize gains in the dynamic equity landscape as larger funds attract increased investor confidence during market highs.
