Tamil Nadu is set to become India's green hydrogen capital with a new facility in Tuticorin. Singapore's Sembcorp Industries is investing Rs 36,238 crore to build a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing plant on a 160-acre site.
This plant will initially produce 200,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually for export to Japan. Chief Minister M K Stalin laid the foundation stone, highlighting Tamil Nadu's growing role in sustainable energy. The project marks a significant collaboration between India, Singapore, and Japan, reflecting deep investment ties.
