In February 2024, Tata Motors secured the second position in car sales in India, edging past Hyundai by a narrow margin. With a 20% year-on-year increase, Tata sold 51,267 units domestically, driven by popular models like the Nexon and Punch. Meanwhile, Hyundai recorded 50,201 unit sales with a 7% increase.
Tata's success can be attributed to its consistent updates to its product lineup, including the facelifted Nexon, Harrier, Safari, and the recent debut of the Punch EV. Looking ahead, Tata plans to launch electric versions of Curvv and Harrier later this year, maintaining its competitive edge.
