Tata Trusts is set to hold a crucial meeting today in Mumbai to discuss succession plans after the recent death of Ratan Tata at age 86.

His half-brother, Noel Tata, is emerging as a strong candidate to lead the $165 billion group. With a 40-year history in the Tata ecosystem, Noel is currently a trustee of both the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. While an interim chairman may be appointed, Noel's growing involvement suggests he could take on a permanent role
