Zomato's CEO Addresses Mushroom Quality Control Incident

Zomato's co-founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, responded to concerns over 18kg of mushrooms with incorrect packaging dates found at the company's Hyderabad warehouse. He clarified that these mushrooms, valued at Rs 7,200, were flagged during a quality control check and never reached customers. The incident came to light after a recent inspection by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Goyal explained that the error was due to a manual typing mistake from the vendor, who has since been delisted. He emphasized Zomato's strict quality guidelines and the advanced tech systems that helped catch the issue, leading to an A+ rating for the warehouse.
